About Us

‘YOUNGSTAGERS’ was formed in 1991 by Marilyn Grose, who had been a member of Saltash Operatic Society for 25 years

The age range for ‘YOUNGSTAGERS’ is 6 to 11 with our Seniors, StageRite, who are 11 to 18 years

We normally perform one big show a year as well as various concerts to raise our profile and funds

We always take part in local events such as Saltash May Fair, Saltash Regatta and Christmas Lights

We rehearse Friday evenings and Saturday usually at Burraton Community Centre where we also perform our main show of the year

Youngstagers have won many awards and accolades in the Cornwall Pantomime Competition and Cornwall Drama Association as well as the Mayor’s ‘Best Performance’ Cup. We have also performed as the half time act in ‘Plymouth’s Got Talent’ which was a great experience for everyone involved!

In 2007 Youngstagers celebrated their 25^th Show by being accepted to perform in EuroDisney and 25 members gave a half hour performance in front of approximately 500 people from all over the world on the ‘Magic Music Days’ Theatre in the park

Joining Youngstagers means a great deal of commitment but is also lots of fun and we always raise a lot for various charities, usually with young people in mind.

Youngstagers is like a family where we all look after each other and have the best of fun working together to put on fabulous shows. We encourage everyone to take part and allow them to find themselves at their own pace.

You do not need to audition to join us or have a particular talent, only a desire to ‘tread the boards’. We encourage and teach important life skills such as confidence, respect, trust and team work.

Parents are encouraged to get involved in many aspects of Youngstagers and, indeed, must be prepared to, at the very least, help during the performances.
